It would be interesting to survey a large group of people in an effort to estimate how many pairs of sunglasses a person might buy in his lifetime. We would be willing to guess the number is higher than most people think. We sell enough designer wholesale sunglasses to protect a lot of eyes, so the number must be pretty high.

We mention this so that we can propose to you what we think would be a fun and interesting promotion, a promotion that could help you sell more sunglasses. Here it is – run a contest asking your customers to submit the strangest ways they have created a need to buy new sunglasses.

In essence, you want to gather as many crazy sunglasses stories as you can. The customer whose story puts the biggest smile on your face wins. The prize could be a brand-new pair of sunglasses of the winner's choosing.

Dropping Them in the Water

We have all heard stories about sunglasses being dropped in the water. You might have a bunch of friends out fishing when one of them gets careless and sends his shades into the drink. It's a pretty common story among people who spend a lot of time on the water. But let us take it one step further.

Here's betting that some of your customers love cruising. Have you ever wondered how many of them have lost their sunglasses while peeking over the railing on the lido deck? Think about it. A customer is enjoying a day at sea when a stiff wind comes up and sends her hat and sunglasses flying. Somewhere between the Bahamas and Puerto Rico, those sunglasses will be spotted by a recreational boater who will wonder what happened.

Sunglasses and Cars

A significant portion of the bulk designer sunglasses we sell go to people who use them mainly when they are driving. Unfortunately, sunglasses and cars do not have a very good history together. There are lots of ways to lose or damage a pair of sunglasses in the context of driving.

How many people take off their sunglasses and set them on the roof of the car to briefly look at a phone notification? A person can get so engrossed in whatever is on his phone that he climbs into the car, closes the door, and drives off without remembering his sunglasses.

Sunglasses left in the glovebox or center console are often victims of heavier objects laid on top. End of life comes by way of a brutal crushing underneath the weight of an owner's manual. Oh, the cruelty of it all.

Misplacing Sunglasses

Yet another way people create the need to buy new sunglasses is misplacing a current pair. You meet friends at a local cafe for lunch. You share some drinks, a lot of laughs, and an hour or two of blissfully ignoring the outside world. Unfortunately, that bliss turns into sunglasses left on the table after lunch.

Sunglasses get misplaced at work, at friends' houses, and just about anywhere else a person might go. They are left on the beach and at the hotel pool. Sunglasses are left behind at churches, beauty salons, shopping centers, and even auto repair shops.

Between breaking, misplacing, and otherwise losing control of one's sunglasses, there are lots of ways our shades die. And with every death is the need to buy a new pair. We know. We sell a lot of wholesale sunglasses to retailers like you. So why not have some fun with it and ask your customers for their wildest sunglasses stories?
